Synopsis

Last year, BEFF were able to premiere the first ever British and French produced films of North Borneo (1907’s Trip to British North Borneo and 1911 Possessions Anglaises Dans Le Nord De Bornéo, respectively).

In 2013, we have discovered another!

In collaboration with the New Zealand Film Archive, BEFF was able to find another rare North Borneo film from 102 years ago! Year after year, we will try our best to re-present the films of who we were in the past so we can ask the question of who we want to be in the future.

In the tradition of the silent film era, we are delighted to invite back musician Hezekiah Asim to express the black & white moving images from 1911 and see if he can put a voice back into a seemingly silent film.

Once in a lifetime experience to see this film on the big screen with a live performance!
