Winners received their prizes at the award ceremony on Saturday, 3rd November at the festival weekend in Suria Sabah. Before announcing the winners, all the 15 shortlisted short films were aired on that night. The short film ‘Bamborneo (Borneo Bamboo Straw Project)’ by Cornelius Sidekly, an undergraduate student from Universiti Malaysia Sabah won the judges vote, and was later announced as the winner of #BBFK18. His one-minute short film highlighted the advantages of using bamboo as a good alternative to replace the usage of plastic straw, and thus reducing the amount of plastic straw in daily basis.  The first and second runner-up goes to Mohammad Afiq Danial Bin Ahad from SMK Keningau II for his ‘Perjalanan Kejayaanku’ and Max Brandon Jepson from Politeknik Kota Kinabalu for his ‘Kerana Pisang’, both submitted under the Children’s theme respectively.
