Over 17 films were screened in BEFF 2015!

The BEFF 2015 festival was held over the weekend of Friday the 2nd to Sunday the 4th of October at Kompleks JKKN (Sabah) in Kota Kinabalu.

The BEFF 2015 festival was held over the weekend of Friday the 2nd to Sunday the 4th of October at Kompleks JKKN (Sabah) in Kota Kinabalu. All of BEFF’s year – long activities culminated in a three-day celebration of our shared natural and cultural heritage.

The 2015 festival weekend featured the Environmental Cinema and Suara Publika programmes, as well as the final Suara Community Filmmaking workshop. Prior to the festival weekend, the Suara Community Filmmaking programme had completed three thematic workshops held over March to August 2016 in various rural locations throughout Sabah.

A total of 17 films were screened over the festival weekend comprising 6 feature films, 9 short films and 2 historical films. Of these, 7 films were shown for the first time in Asia while another 2 films were Southeast Asian Premieres. Plus, another six Suara films were premiered at the final night of the festival weekend.
