‘A Glimpse into the remote corners of Kinabalu’ by Dr. Ravi Mandalam
Mount Kinabalu, the iconic mountain, is perhaps the most commanding sight on the island of Borneo. The mountain is a World Heritage site and a major tourist attraction. Every year tourists in thousands trek up its well-maintained trail to the highest point – the summit of Low’s Peak.
Beyond this well-trodden trail, there are vast areas of Kinabalu that seldom see human visitation. I will venture to share with the audience, glimpses of the grandeur of some of these remote vistas which I have been fortunate to visit.
