SUARA COMMUNITY FILMMAKING | SUARA PUBLIKA | ENVIRONMENTAL CINEMA
Suara Community Filmmaking is a year-long capacity building programme where we work with indigenous and local community filmmakers from all over Sabah to capture and communicate their stories, experiences and worldviews related to Borneo's biocultural heritage. This is the heart of BEFF's community filmmaking journey.
Calling all students in Sabah. Join BEFF’s My Eco Snapchat Story Challenge. Use Snapchat to show us how you feel about Sabah’s environment and you could be the Borneo Eco Film Festival’s 2016 Eco Challenger!
The principle material outputs of the Suara community filmmaking programme include the completion of SUARA FILMS and their screening to the general public during the festival. Films were shot on location in the participants’ communities, and represent the culmination of efforts undertaken throughout the year-long Suara training.
BEFF’s youth outreach programme is about us wanting to understand how our youth connects with the issues surrounding social and environmental change and resilience.
Exciting, engaging and educational, SUARA PUBLIKA sessions are designed to be casual and fun learning experiences where we can discover the inter-connections between filmmaking and environmental conservation through stories of some of the best organisations and individuals working in Sabah, Borneo and Malaysia.
SUARA PREMIERES is another part of the Environmental Cinema programme where completed Suara Komuniti films are brought to a public audience on the big screen.
BOLEH BAH FILEM KITA! (BBFK) is a platform for local filmmakers to show how creative they can be with a very local flavour! With BBFK, the Borneo Eco Film Festival hopes to spur local talent and encourage the filmmaking scene. Boleh Bah Filem Kita!
